
Spirit of Africa Festival
The Spirit of Africa Festival is a, two day Hybrid Festival, free celebration of traditional music and dance performances featuring local and international artists from Africa and the African Diaspora. This year's festival is two days: Day 1 features a virtual festival filmed live in Dakar, Senegal Streamed on May 12 on Facebook and Youtube Live and Day 2: May 13, 2023 2 pm- 8:30 pm Features an In-person Festival in Seattle, Washington at the Seattle Center Armory Food and Event Hall!

Movies & Shakers
MOVIES & SHAKERS! We are encouraging community and families to be active together! Inspired Child will offer free dance classes at Pratt Park teaching snippets of choreography inspired by music videos, dance scenes from movies and tik tok. This program introduces the joy of collective movement through African dance, tap dance, and hip hop dance.

Love, Power, and Purpose
A 4-week intensive summer program that explores the power of our words and movements through spoken word, dance, art and activism. It culminates in a finale performance and the self-publishing of the Love, Power, & Purpose Chapbook featuring participant poetry & photographs of their art work.

BLACK ARTISTS COMMUNITY
COALITION
2019 Inspired Child launched The Black Artists Coalition to assist in organizing existing collectives of black artists and individual black artist into a coalition and support the development of a shared vision and roadmap for a regional Black Arts Community. Inspired Child has provided services to meet collective and individual artist needs over the years and is formalizing these offerings under the Black Artist Coalition.

Inspired Child Community Council
Inspired Child Community Council is a volunteer group of community members who support the vision, mission, and programming of Inspired Child.

Verbal Oasis Spoken Word Festival
Is an annual arts celebration over Labor Day weekend that brings together black artists and black arts collectives from our regional artist family to showcase our talents, build community, develop our artistry, and provide an opportunity to transfer our craft from to those who are experienced to those who are inspired to learn.
